چکیده

This paper presents a simulated genetic algorithm (GA) model of scheduling the flow shop problem with reentrant jobs. The objective of this research is to minimize the weighted tardiness and makespan. The proposed model considers that the jobs with non-identical due dates are processed on the machines in the same order. Furthermore, the re-entrant jobs are stochastic as only some jobs are required to reenter to the flow shop. The tardiness weight is adjusted once the jobs reenter to the shop. The performance of the proposed GA model is verified by a number of numerical experiments where the data come from the case company. The results show the proposed method has a higher order satisfaction rate than the current industrial practices.

Solving Re-entrant No-wait Flow Shop Scheduling Problem

In this study, we consider the production environment of no-wait reentrant flow shop with the objective of minimizing makespan of the jobs. In a reentrant flow shop, at least one job should visit at least one of the machines more than once. In a no-wait flowshop scheduling problem, when the process of a specific job begins on the first machine, it should constantly be processed without waiting ...

A Scheduling Model for the Re-entrant Manufacturing System and Its Optimization by NSGA-II

In this study, a two-objective mixed-integer linear programming model (MILP) for multi-product re-entrant flow shop scheduling problem has been designed. As a result, two objectives are considered. One of them is maximization of the production rate and the other is the minimization of processing time. The system has m stations and can process several products in a moment. The re-entrant flow sho...

Solving Re-entrant No-wait Flexible Flowshop Scheduling Problem; Using the Bottleneck-based Heuristic and Genetic Algorithm

In this paper, we study the re-entrant no-wait flexible flowshop scheduling problem with makespan minimization objective and then consider two parallel machines for each stage. The main characteristic of a re-entrant environment is that at least one job is likely to visit certain stages more than once during the process. The no-wait property describes a situation in which every job has its own ...

Evaluation of Bi-objective Scheduling Problems by FDH, Distance and Triangle Methods

In this paper, two methods named distance and triangle methods are extended to evaluate the quality of approximation of the Pareto set from solving bi-objective problems. In order to use evaluation methods, a bi-objective problem is needed to define. It is considered the problem of scheduling jobs in a hybrid flow shop environment with sequence-dependent setup times and the objectives of minimi...
